Review: M&S Autograph Pure Colour Powder Blush in Pale Blush

Hello lovelies,

As you can see this has been well loved and as soon as I hit pan, I thought why haven't I done a review about this blush. I picked this up on a whim as I had a voucher to spend, and wanted a blush that would add a little glow to my cheeks.

Despite being labelled as a Pale Blush, it adds as natural flush and looks lovely matched up with my pale pinkish skin tone or when I'm tanned. The formula is a smooth, finely milled powder and using my Eco-tools blush brush, the product picks up easily and you only only need to lightly sweep it across the apples of your cheeks.

I love the packaging too, it's very reminiscent of Chanel, it's smart and comes with a small mirror which is always handy to have! It lasts all day and easily rivals some of the more expensive blushs of Nars.

M&S Autograph Pure Colour Powder Blush is available for £7.00 instore and online.

Have you tried any of the M&S Autograph range?

Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Liason

Hello lovelies,

I recieved this little beauty as a present for my birthday from a friend. Everytime we'd go into Sephora, I'd be lusting over the Chanel lipsticks but just couldn't bring myself to part with the 30 euros so on my birthday when she said pick one, I was like a little giddy child! We must have spent at least an hour swatching the different Chanel lipsticks and finally I settled on a Rouge Coco in shade 49 Liason.

Liason was released as part of the Spring 2013 collection and is a soft satiny pink shade, perfect for Spring. Liason offers a warm light-medium pink tone with a soft sheen, I find the colour is warmer than a natural pink but not enough to be classed as a coral, it falls midway somewhere between the two.

Consistency wise, I would say it's quite creamy, after a bit of trial and error, I prefer to add a slick of clear lipgloss over the top as it smooths out any unevenness against my lip tone. It lasted about four - five hours which I would say is fairly average for a lipstick. The thing that really drew me to the Rouge Coco is their hydrating consistency, I find sometimes lip colour drys out my lips and the colour can cling to dry patches, this was lightly hydrating whilst I wore it and consequently the colour wore off evenly.

I've definitely got a few more shades on my wishlist and I feel like I may have to treat myself sometime soon.

Do you think Chanel lipsticks are worth the money?

Grand National: Ladies Day

Hello lovelies,

Ladies Day at Aintree

If you're a keen follower of my blog then you'll know I'm no stranger to putting together outfit posts, so when I was contacted about a competition that Ladbrokes are running to win tickets for Ladies Day for the Grand National held at Aintree, Liverpool, I knew I had to get involved. I stayed next door to the race course last month and would love to have the chance to actually be there enjoying the buzz!

The outfit I've put together is very girly and something I would love to wear. The dress is from Ted Baker and I adore the cut of it, fitted on top and then skimming the body. I decided to pair it with a gorgeous clutch bag from Dune which brings out the embellished neckline of the dress and in my ideal World, I would match it with the earrings from Biba. I paired the dress with a comfy pair of nude heels that I'd hopefully be able to keep on my feet all day!

If you're would like to find out more about the competition or if you're a fan of my outfit, you can vote for me. It would be greatly appreciated, I would take my Mum to the Grand National as she's a Liverpudlian and has never been. I know she'd love it!

Ramble Updates #1

Hello lovelies,

I don't know how well read chatty posts are on here because I rarely do them here. Mostly because my life is boring and you don't want to hear that I spent all my money and had to eat pasta for the last five days and will do for the forseeable future...true story.

First of all I want to say a huge thanks to those of you who have emailed me asking me where am I?! I've been a busy buzzy bee for the last ten days or so, with crazy university classes that see me starting at 8.30am and finishing at 7.30pm. The French really need to sort that out. I've had little time to do anything but work, eat, sleep and celebrate St Paddy's.

If you're a regular reader of mine then you'll know that I'm on my year abroad at uni in the South of France, I chose my university on where would be the hottest and closest to the beach, so far it's worked like a dream. We've had some crazy hot weather and I've been acting all continental sat outside cafes that aren't big enough to swing a cat in, soaking up the sun. When I go home, I intend on being olive-toned, highly unlikely considering my English rose colouring.

This last weekend was like no weekend I've ever experienced before, many of my friends here are irish and with them winning the 6 Nations (I'm not bitter) and it being St Paddys, I had several late nights. I really did have a fantastic time but my body is paying for it now and the lack of sleep has hit me. I've known these girls for 6 months but when we all leave and head off home, I'm going to miss them so much, they always make me laugh and even if my french hasn't improved, my irish has!

Those of you with an eagle eye may have noticed my blog makeover, I'm absolutely over the moon with it, so a huge thank you to Hayley at Tea Party Beauty for her hard work! I'm at a crossroads at the moment, I'm trying to decide whether to continue my little space on the interweb as solely beauty/fashion posts or include more lifestyle posts too.

Monthly Favourites / February

Hello lovelies,

Time for yet another monthly favourites, I know February is the shortest month of the year but this month really has flown by! I'm so glad that we are in March now because it is my Birthday month and I'm just so ready for Spring. Today has been absolutely glorious, the sun has definitely got his hat on, I can't wait to be putting on my shorts! On with the favourites...

I picked up this sample size in a try me box and when I flew home for a couple of weeks I took this with me, and I am so glad that I did! If you're a regular reader then you'll know that my t-zone can get very oily throughout the day if I don't powder. I didn't have high hopes but this actually works, it keeps the shine at bay. Now this certainly isn't a hydrating fluid, so I'd say if you're skin really is combination and you have some dry patches to moisturise and then apply this as a primer product. It doesn't completely combat my oily zone but neither does it promise too, it's done a great job at balancing my combination skin and I find I can go hours without rushing to look in the mirror to powder.

Ignore the packaging being in German/French, it didn't take me long to work out exactly what this was. My eye area isn't particularly sensitive but this never stings or burns, it really is a gentle product. I'm quite fussy when it comes to eye makeup removers, I'm not a huge fan of the oil based removers as they leave a slimy residue but this leaves nothing and gets rid of all traces of makeup, it even budges my waterproof mascara.

I feel like pretty much everyone has tried this out as an alternative to the hard to get Bioderma. Whilst Bioderma will always be the hands down winner in my book, if you're within the UK this pretty much does the same job at a fraction of the cost of importing Bioderma. I tend to use it as a precleanser and it literally disolves the makeup from my face without me having to rub and tug at my skin. It brings everything off without any irritation and really leaves your skin feeling soothed without any tightness unlike some cleansers.

So ladies, what products have you been loving this month?

March Beauty Haul

Hello lovelies,

If this post isn't coherent, then there's a reason behind it. I made a very long journey that started off at 1am in Yorkshire and I finally reached my place at 11.30am in Bordeaux which involved screaming children on coaches... I feel sleep deprived. Despite my very sleepyhead, I want to show you what I picked up yesterday afternoon in a mad dash around Boots and Superdrug.

Models Own HyperGel Nail Polish in Coral Glaze - £5.00
I've seen mixed reviews on the latest offering from Models Own and as I was in Boots and needed one more item for 3 for 2, I popped one in my basket. I thought I'd picked up Cerise Shine after seeing swatches over on Mammaful Zo's blog but Coral Glaze is more of a bright fiery coral shade. I don't own anything quite like this but I'm sceptical to how long lasting and chip resistant this will be.

Superdrug Natually Radiant Brightening Eye Cream - £2.98 (normally £5.99)
This was more of an impulse purchase, my Simple eye cream is on its last legs and I'm in dire need of a new undereye cream. I don't usually spend a lot on undereye creams, as of yet! I feel like my own issue at the tender age of 21 is more dark circles than fine lines, and anything that promises to brighten and delivers is a winner in my book.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent - £3.99
This is my go to powder, I get quite an oily T-zone throughout the day depending on which foundation I've used, I like to just blot this powder onto my face with a large kabuki brush and it controls the oil without making my face look cakey.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in Warm Medium - £4.19
I have a feeling that the packaging had been rebranded but this will always be a repurchase for me. Every blogger and their dog has tried this and raved about it, it's affordable and offers great coverage. I used to choose the second shade in, being light, so this is a shade darker than what I'd normally go for. At the moment it's slightly too dark for me but it's just a backup and come the summer it will be a perfect colour match for me... hopefully!

Seventeen Intense High Drama Liquid Eyeliner - £3.99
This is the first liquid eyeliner that I've really managed to get to grips with, I love the shape of the brush and the handle is just long enough to get precise application. This is another repurchase for me as the fabric on the nib has started to come away so I always end up smudging my eyeliner, I wouldn't say this has holy grail status as of yet, I would like to try a few other eyeliners from the Seventeen range.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion Mascara - £11.99
I'd be lying to you if I said I repurchased this, it's something I picked out of my stash. I bought a couple of these on a really good offer in Tesco and not until October/November time did I crack one open. Normally I like to switch up my mascaras but to say I've gone back to this one, really shows how much I like it. It gives me long voluminous eyelashes without clumping and is definitely one that I'd add onto my would buy again list.

What have you bought recently?
